I was trying to make him feel better. It has to be tough being so unloved. On the topic of botanical prints the U of M has a great collection of herbals from like the 1500s and 1600s. They're in the wangensteen medical library. The drawings are amazing and the librarian is insanely happy to show them to people (after they sign a few forms saying they know how to act in the library). The classification they use is ALSO amazing because it's pre-lineaus so they group things like Chestnuts and hedgehogs together because they both are round and spiny. They have a copy of the Theatrum Botanicum, my most favorite herbal, from 1640. I'd assume your school probably has a collection worth looking at as well.
Are you deleting my comments or does your blog just hate me? I know I left a comment here about me liking your drawings of plants!
